You Won’t Believe How Big the Bible Says Heaven Will Be!

FACT: The Bible describes a future city so vast, so glorious, so unimaginably big… you won’t believe it—unless you read it for yourself!

It’s called the New Jerusalem — and it is the eternal home God has prepared for all who trust in Jesus Christ…and you don’t want to miss it!

Jesus said it plainly:

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.”
— John 14:2 (KJV)

And the apostle John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was shown the city in vivid detail:

“The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide.
He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.”
— Revelation 21:16 (NIV)

Just how big is that?

Based on this dimension, the New Jerusalem would cover nearly half the size of the continental United States — and would extend 1,400 miles straight up into the sky!

Scholars and mathematicians estimate it could easily contain 500 trillion 20,000 sq ft mansions — more than enough room for everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord!

God is Not Looking for Ways to Keep You Out

Some people fear that heaven will be small, exclusive, and that God is somehow reluctant to let them in.
Nothing could be further from the truth!

Look again at the words of Jesus:

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH ROOM IN MY FATHER’S HOME. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”
— John 14:1-2

God’s heart is not to exclude—it is to include.
He has made heaven big enough for everyone who will come.

“The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
— 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
— Romans 10:13 (NIV)

Heaven was not designed to be an exclusive club for the elite.
It was prepared by a loving Father who desires His children to be with Him forever.

The Place Is Prepared—But Is Your Heart?

The New Jerusalem will shine with the brilliance of God’s glory:

“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it,
for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.”
— Revelation 21:23 (NIV)

The gates will never be shut:

“On no day will its gates ever be shut,
for there will be no night there.”
— Revelation 21:25 (NIV)

The invitation is open. The place is prepared.
But here is the key: you must respond.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in…”
— Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)

Make Room for Jesus Today

Heaven is big enough for you.
God’s love is big enough for you.
Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross is more than enough for you.

But you must make room in your heart for Him.

“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
— John 1:12 (NIV)

Don’t wait. Today is the day of salvation:

“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
— Hebrews 4:7 (NIV)

Hell is real—and Jesus came to save you from it!

In fact, Jesus spoke about hell more than anyone else in the Bible—over 70 times, warning us of its reality and urging us to turn to God. He described it as a place of “outer darkness” (Matthew 25:30), “weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 13:42), “eternal fire” (Matthew 25:41), and “where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:48).

Hell was not created for you—it was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). But because of sin, every person is at risk of eternal separation from God. That’s why Jesus came: “The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).

There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun—and through faith in Jesus Christ, you can receive forgiveness, new life, and a place prepared for you in heaven (John 14:2-3). The invitation is open today—which path will you choose?

A Simple Prayer

If you want to know—without a doubt—that if you breathed your last breath on earth today, heaven would be your home, you can settle it right now. Pray this prayer from your heart…

“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again.
I open my heart to You. Forgive me, make me new, and prepare me for the place You have prepared for me.
Thank You for loving me. I receive You now as my Savior and Lord. Amen.”

Final Thought

You won’t believe how big the Bible says heaven will be — but it’s true.
Jesus Himself said: “If it were not so, I would have told you.”
The place is ready. You did not read this by accident. God is not looking for ways to keep you out—He is inviting you in.
