Don’t Hide From Your Promotion

16 Aug
If you let Him, God will meet you in your hiding place, remind you who He is and who you are, and bring you out and into your greater destiny…

“But when they looked for Saul, he had disappeared!  So they asked the Lord, “Where is he?” and the Lord replied, “He is hiding among the baggage…” (1 Samuel 10:22-23  NLT)

You can’t feed your fears and your future at the same time.  And you are feeding one or the other…

God sees something greater in you than you see in yourself.

And, God sees something greater for your life – your family – your finances – your ministry – your future –your influence – than you see for yourself…

Every great man – every great woman – that has been called by God – has dealt with fear.  The message of this book  is that you and I serve a great God who will find you in your hiding place of reluctance, insecurity and fear – meet you there – encourage you there – remind you who you are and who He is – and bring you out!

God met Gideon in his hiding place.

“Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash, the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.  And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:11-12 NKJV)

God saw something in Gideon that Gideon did not see in himself.

God saw something in Gideon that his own father did not see in him.  Even at your lowest point, God sees something greater in you and for you than you or anybody else sees.

God doesn’t see what you are; He sees what you can be…

This powerful truth began to change my life 32 years ago in an Oral Roberts University student chapel service when our guest speaker, Dr. Morris Cerullo powerfully ministered from his classic, “Proof Producers” message.

He shared how in one verse of the 16th chapter of the Gospel of Mark, Jesus rebuked all eleven disciples for not believing those who said He was resurrected…but then in the very next verse He turned to these fearful, running from the cross, Jesus-denying, unbelieving disciples, encouraged them and entrusted them with the Great Commission:

Check it out…

Afterward He appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them, which had seen him after he was risen. (Mark 16:14 KJV)

Then in Jesus’ next breath, He turns to this same group and instead of sending them back to square one, or giving up on them, or delaying their destiny, He commissions them!

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15 KJV)

WOW! In a simple, but profound and powerful statement, Morris explained how God could entrust and empower these men in their weakness, and how He still does the same with you and me, when he said…

I wrote this book to tell you that I discovered the greatest faith in all the world is not the faith you have in God, but the greatest faith in all the world is the faith that God has in you!

God met Moses in his hiding place – in his fear and rejection- in the backside of the desert. He met Moses not to rebuke him or to embarrass him but to encourage him right where he was, and to bring him out!

We read in Exodus why Moses, a Hebrew, who was raised in the Egyptian palace of the Pharaoh, found himself hiding from his destiny in the backside of the desert.

“Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work.  During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews.  After looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching, Moses killed the Egyptian and hid the body in the sand. The next day, when Moses went out to visit his people again, he saw two Hebrew men fighting.  “Why are you beating up your friend?”  Moses said to the one who had started the fight. The man replied, “Who appointed you to be our prince and judge?  Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?”  Then Moses was afraid, thinking, “Everyone knows what I did.”  And sure enough, Pharaoh heard what had happened and he tried to kill Moses.  But Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in the land of Midian.” (Exodus 2:11-15 NLT)

All of a sudden, Moses became a man without a country.  He went from having everything to having nothing.  A great man with a great calling in a place of great fear, rejection and hiding.

There were three 40-year stages to Moses’ life:

The First 40 years, Moses thought he was a somebody.

The Second 40 years, he found out he was a nobody.

Then in his Final 40 years, Moses learned what God could do with a somebody who knew he was a nobody!

God met Moses in his place of fear, hiding and rejection to encourage him and to bring him out into his promotion. It was God’s time to show Himself strong on Moses’ behalf, to bring him out and to fulfill his dreams by a demonstration of His power…

Even while Moses was hiding, his promotion was in motion… and so is yours!

You are not reading this book by accident.  Now is God’s time to visit you, remind you who you are, who He is, and for you to stop feeding your fear and start feeding your future!

This is your personal, defining moment.

At Moses’ defining moment, God supernaturally met him in the backside of the desert of Midian and spoke out of a burning bush, “Look!  The cry of the people of Israel has reached Me, (your promotion is not only about you, but mostly about how God wants to use you to impact the people He is sending you to) and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them.  Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh.  You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:9-10 NLT)

This book is your burning bush, may God speak to you from every page!

For every fear – every insecurity – every weakness – that Moses struggled with and verbalized– God did not rebuke him – or chastise him – He reassured him and equipped him!

When Moses doubted himself and asked the same question many great men and women have asked, “Who am I (to appear before Pharaoh)?”  God answered, “I will be with you.”

When you struggle with who you are and wonder how you can accomplish God’s great destiny for your life, the Lord will remind you that He is with YOU!

David said, “I will fear no evil for You are with me…” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV)

When Moses asked, “Who will I say sent me?”  God gave him a great weapon, His name, Yahweh!

Just like Moses, God is not sending you out in your own name, or in your own ability. He is sending you out in the Name that is above every name, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, who said, You didn’t choose Me.  I chose you.  I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit,
so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my Name!” (John 15:16 NLT)

I am convinced that whatever you or I ask the Father in the Name of Jesus to help equip us to fulfill God’s great, appointed destiny for our life and produce lasting fruit, He will give it to you!

When Moses doubted himself saying, “What if they don’t believe me or listen to me?”  The Lord gave Moses His miracle-working power…

When Moses reluctantly continued, “I’m not very good with words.  I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me, I get tongue-tied and my words get tangled.” (Exodus 4:10 NLT)

The Lord told Moses, “Now go!  I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”
(Exodus 4: 12 NLT)

Yet, even after receiving all this encouragement from the Lord, Moses was still not quite convinced, so God met him again at his place of doubt and reluctance. He didn’t reprove him, but instead gave him even more help and encouragement in the person of his brother Aaron, who God sent to be Moses’ assistant.

The God you serve is a patient God that is 100% invested in showing Himself strong on your behalf and giving you everything you need to successfully fulfill your destiny!

Thirty-two years ago through a dramatic, divine encounter, God stopped me in my tracks and called me to serve and stand by the side of the ministry of Dr. Morris Cerullo.  I share the story in my book, The Blessing of Serving Another Man’s Ministry.  For the past three plus decades, serving as Dr. Cerullo’s Vice President of Ministries has been the privilege and experience of a lifetime.

As a result, God has singularly blessed my life – my family – and my ministry serving Morris and Theresa these past 30+ years.  By God’s grace, I have been faithful.  My wife and family have been faithful.

My motive has been to serve – to be a blessing – without ulterior or hidden agendas.

Many times, world-renowned Pastor Tommy Barnett has very graciously referred to me as “America’s number one number two man!”

I have been blessed.  I have been beyond fulfilled.  God has given me success. I love Morris and Theresa and what God has privileged us to experience and accomplish together for the glory of God and His kingdom.

But I discovered that while God can use you – even in your success you can become comfortable and hide from your greater destiny…

Everybody likes to be comfortable and successful, but I wrote this book from a painful discovery: your greater future destiny can die in your present comfort zone of success!

Like the mother eagle – who begins to remove some of the comfortable things from the nest, the soft twigs, the leaves, and the thatch so that her baby eaglets begin to realize it’s time to move from the comfort of their nest – to spread their own wings and fly – for some time – Dr. Cerullo and the Lord have been nudging and prodding this 6’9” eagle to begin to spread his wings in a greater way…

One of the most unusual stories in the Bible is found in
1 Samuel 10:20-24 (NLT).  Maybe you can relate to it.  I know I did.

Let me explain…

“So, Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel before the Lord… but when they looked for Saul, he had disappeared!  So they asked the Lord, “Where is he?”  And the Lord replied, “HE IS HIDING AMONG THE BAGGAGE.”
So they found him and brought him out…  Then Samuel said to all the people, “This is the man the Lord has chosen as your king.  No one in all Israel is like him!”  And all the people shouted, “Long live the king!”

When Samuel found Saul hiding behind the baggage, he graciously brought him out, gave him a grand and glorious introduction to all of Israel, never speaking a word publicly about Saul’s behind the scenes fearfulness and reluctance.

God did not embarrass him, or change His mind, or delay Saul’s destiny, instead He celebrated Saul and promoted him!

Neither will God forsake you or embarrass you when He finds you in your hiding place.  Instead, He will encourage you, remind you who you are, who He is, empower you, bring you out, back you up and promote you!

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you know that there is more for you.  I want to encourage you. Now is your time to come out of hiding from behind the baggage of your fears, your weakness, your failures, your excuses and even your successes, and take the next step into your greater destiny.

God knows where you are and will encourage you even now in your hiding place.  He will meet you there, remind you who you are, and who He is, and bring you out!

And you are in good company…

God met Gideon in his hiding place…

He met Moses in his hiding place…

He met Jonah in his hiding place…

He met Adam in his hiding place…

And He met Saul in his hiding place…

As Saul came out from hiding behind the baggage, God announced: “This is the man the Lord has chosen as your king.  No one in all Israel is like him!” And all the people shouted, “Long live the king!” (1 Samuel 10:24 NLT)

Today God is making a grand announcement over you:

“You are the man – you are the woman – that the Lord has chosen for a greater purpose… there is no one in all the world like you!  The people that need you – those that I have called you to help – they are looking for you, they are waiting for you.  Listen to them shouting now as you rise up to step into your destiny, “Long live ____________ (insert your name).  There is no one in the Kingdom of God like you!”

Your destiny is too great and your life is too short to play it safe in your relationship with God and His great promotion for your life.  God loves risk-takers…

Faith always takes a risk…

No risk, no reward…

And know this:  The greatest battle over your life is what you believe about God and what you believe He believes about you.

There are two voices over your promotion…the voice of the accuser – and the voice of the Intercessor.

There were two voices over Peter’s life as the baton was about to be passed to him from Jesus when it was Peter’s time to step into his promotion…

“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren” (Luke 22:31-32 NKJV)

Though Satan will try to sift you, know this: Jesus is praying for you!  And the voice of the Intercessor is much greater in heaven and in earth than the voice of the accuser!

I discovered that in my season of promotion (and every day of my life), the greatest investment you can make in your life is spending time in God’s Word and establishing the voice of God as the greatest voice in your life.

You will be prepared, encouraged and propelled into your promotion by the transforming of your mind through daily meditating on God’s Word, prayer and associating with those that challenge you to grow and reach your dreams.

When it was Joshua’s time to step into his promotion, God told him, Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate in it day and night…Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”(Joshua 1:8 NLT)

Listen to this prophetic declaration from Morris Cerullo that has encouraged and challenged me and many others countless times through the years…it is a word from God for you wherever you are right now…

Why don’t you say it: “I am not what the devil says I am. I am what God says I am. And today, I am stepping in to my end time destiny!”

With all my heart, I believe that now is your time to hear the word of the Lord encourage you, and take you by the hand to bring you out of your hiding place – and for you to take the next step into your greater destiny.

Your promotion, and more importantly, those that the Lord has destined for you to impact, are waiting for you!

We Didn’t Meet By Accident: A Simple Gospel Tract You Can Easily Share With Everyone You Meet!

20 Mar

Instead of just giving a financial blessing to those that serve you (waiters. car wash attendants, etc) here’s an easy way to also share the greatest blessing of all!

I would love to put a tract in your hands that makes it easy to share Christ with anyone and everyone you meet.  One day in prayer, God gave me the title for a simple tract, “We Didn’t Meet By Accident”, that could easily be shared with everyone we meet – many that we may never see again -and give to them the most important message we can.  I sincerely believe that you and I don’t meet anyone by accident, our steps are ordered of the Lord!

For the past year my beautiful wife Jeri and I have been amazed at how easy it is to share this simple, non threatening, surprisingly well received message with almost everyone we meet.  “We Didn’t Meet By Accident” is a great ice breaker.  Almost all people of all walks of life have a belief that things don’t happen by accident, that people don’t meet by accident, etc.  As a result by sharing this simple tract with Uber drivers, waiters and waitresses, store owners, people that we meet every day — we have seen many disarmed, open up, ask for prayer, receive Christ or at least have a seed sown to begin to consider (or reconsider) God’s great plan of forgiveness and eternal life for them and their family, etc.

There are several ways I would be happy for you to use this message…

One, feel free to take the idea – even improve upon it – and print your own tracts using any or all of the ideas in our tract. We print copies at Kinko’s, on our home computer/printer, etc… I could email you a PDF of the tract laid out for printing that would make it easier for you to print your own. My email is

Second, if it would make it easier I would be happy to send you as many already printed as you can use whether or not you can make a contribution.  Just email me at I could also customize the message at the end to include your personal, church or ministry contact information if you would like.

Following is the copy in our tract, that we print 2-up on regular 8 1/2 x 11 paper:

This is the cover to the tract that we print 2-up and 2-sided on 8 1/2 x 11 paper — we use a canary color — but just regular white paper is fine as well! (We print at Kinkos or even on our home computer/printer)

Then inside page 1:

I don’t believe we met by accident! This short note is God’s small way to remind you that no matter what you are going through right now He is on your side, He loves you and has a great plan for your life and for your future!

There is a great verse in the Bible in 2 Samuel 14:14:

“All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away: instead, He devises ways to bring us (you and me) back when we (you and me) have been separated from Him.”

Friend when you or I find ourselves separated or away from God, His word promises that He doesn’t devise revenge, instead He devises ways to bring us back to Him!

Jeremiah 29:11 says it this way: “For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.”

I have discovered that the greatest faith in all the world is not the faith that you or I have in God, but it is the faith God has in you!

Then inside page 2:

Though our sin separates us from a perfect, sinless God, a loving God devised the ultimate way 2,000 years ago to save you and me from judgement and bring us back to Him and to His great plan of good and blessing for our lives…

That is why God himself came to the earth as a man through Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for every sin you and I would ever commit…

2 Corinthians 5:21 says: ”For He made Him (Jesus) who know no sin to be made sin for us, that we (you and me) might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” So now when you and I turn from our failures and invite Jesus Christ into our lives, God no longer sees your sin, He sees the righteousness of Jesus Christ! Right standing with God is not earned, it is His gift to you!

God is 100% fully invested in you! Today, your comeback and my comeback begins with eight simple words, “I have sinned and I need a Savior.”

This simple prayer changed my life, and it can change yours:

“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. Forgive me and come into my life. Thank you for living inside of me and giving me a new beginning today. With Your help I will follow You all the days of my life! In Jesus Name, Amen!”

Then on the final page: (you could change the closing sentence with your church information, email address, or leave as is if you prefer)

Friend, if you prayed that prayer, something great has begun for you!

John 1:12 says: “But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God”

Revelation 3:20 says: “Look! I (Jesus) stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in…”

And 2 Corinthians 5:17 says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold all things have become new!”

This is your day for a new beginning! As you have opened your heart, Jesus will walk with you and talk with you. As you pray, read His word and go to a church where the Bible is preached, expect to see answers to your prayer and hear Him speak to you through His word.

Call 1-866-756-4200 or email for additional prayer anytime.  We didn’t meet by accident!

I don’t believe you read this by accident – it’s a great feeling to have a message like “We Didn’t Meet By Accident” in your pocket, purse, wallet, etc – to share with those you meet, and fulfill the great commission of our Lord before He returns!  It would be an honor for Jeri and I to help get some to you! Our email is

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that wins souls is wise!” (Prov 11:30)

“I tell you that there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over 99 righteous persons that need no repentance” (Luke 15:7)

“He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalms 126:6)

5 Things I Am Believing God To Do For You In 2017!

17 Jan

On New Years Eve 2016, while in a time of fasting and prayer, preparing for our 46th Annual Morris Cerullo World Conference, (which was set to begin here in Dallas the following day), God showed me five prophetic promises that He encouraged me to take hold of 2017 (and which have already begun to come to pass in a significant way) that I believe are not just for me and my house, but as I write these words, I am believing they are for you and yours starting right now!

Two important words:God is imparting to you a new level of DILIGENCE and FEARLESSNESS in 2017!

If you are ready, say “I am ready!”

Here goes:

“The fears of the wicked will be fulfilled, the hopes of the Godly will be granted.” (Proverbs 10:24)

If you have been made righteous by Christ, you belong to Him. Though Proverbs 10:24 says “the fears of the wicked will be fulfilled…” I declare YOUR FEARS WILL NOT BE FULFILLED, and Proverbs 10:24 continues, and YOUR HOPES SHALL BE GRANTED!

The thing you fear will not come to pass in 2017 — and your hopes shall be granted!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and NOT TO HARM you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer 29:11 NIV)

God’s plan in 2017 is to prosper you — and NOT to harm you — your fears will not be fulfilled and your hopes shall be granted!!

“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call. May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.” (2 Thessalonians 1:11)

You are being empowered by God to keep those good New Years resolutions that your faith prompted you to make for 2017!  If you have already fallen short, get up and take a step toward Him. You will not need to grit your teeth and tighten your belt to accomplish the new and good things God has prepared for you in 2017 — God’s grace, which is His empowerment to do the good things your faith prompts you to do in 2017 — is being released to you in a greater dimension than ever before. Just thank Him! Remember, 2017 is 365 days — divide your goals into bite sized chunks — each day is a new opportunity to receive God’s grace and mercy — and to forget those things that are behind you and press FORWARD to the mark of the prize of your high calling in Christ!

“For he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a REWARDER of those who DILIGENTLY seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

“Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33)

As you raise the level of your diligence in seeking the things of God more in 2017 (His word, prayer, giving, helping others, fasting, obeying God, keeping Him first), there is a great reward that will be released from God to you in 2017!

“It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them.” (Proverbs 25:2)

There are hidden, new things God has in store for you in 2017 that He will cause you to discover — to bless you and empower you in new ways as you seek Him and His kingdom this year.

“Until the time came to fulfill His dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.” (Psalms 105:19)

“…be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you.” (Colossians 4:17)

Every dream has a test, and every dream has a time. You have passed the time of your test, and now is the time for the Lord to fulfill His dream for your life!

I am believing God to do these five great things in your life as you take hold of them in Jesus Name!!!

Lord, thank you for my friend that is reading these words today. God I ask that as they look to you in a greater way, that you will do exceedingly, abundantly above all that they can think or ask according to your power that works in them now in Jesus Name, Amen!

My Friend Myles Munroe: Promoting Others In Life and Death

6 Dec

"Make people greater than yourself and you will live forever!"

“Make people greater than yourself and you will live forever!”

I just returned home from a sometimes tearful two day pilgrimage to the place “where God lives” – the beautiful Bahamas, home to the inauspicious birth, the unparalleled life and the untimely death of of my mentor and friend Dr. Myles Munroe, his regal wife Pastor Ruth and seven of their beloved staff and friends – who all perished in an internationally publicized, shocking plane crash en route to the Myles Munroe Leadership Conference on November 9th.

My wife Jeri and I were honored to accompany Dr. Morris and Theresa Cerullo for the Myles and Ruth Munroe Homegoing Celebration where Dr. Cerullo had been invited to speak at the National Stadium as world leaders, esteemed ministers, family and friends were joined by thousands to honor this humble apostle of God and his beloved wife.

I couldn’t help but feel Myles presence day and night during the two days we were In Nassau…

Here is a raw recording of Dr Cerullo’s tribute that I recorded with my phone: Morris Cerullo Tribute at Myles/Ruth Munroe Memorial Service

For over 20 years I had the joy and privilege of booking Myles to speak in Dr Cerullo’s major conferences. Myles chose not to refer me to deal with an assistant, but would speak to me personally – and make most of his arrangements with me directly.

And he wouldn’t just want to get the speaking details confirmed and get off the phone. He would always take time to invest in me and speak to the purpose of God in my life and ministry. He would ask about my health, my marriage, my family and my ministry.

Along with Dr. Cerullo, it was Myles that urged me to write my book “The Blessing of Serving Another Man’s Ministry” and would call me to check on the progress.

Dr Cerullo wrote the forward. After Morris, Myles was the first to read the manuscript and send me his most gracious words of endorsement, which are printed on the back cover.

The last time Myles spoke for us was this past January – he called me several months before the conference to ask what the theme was — so that he could prepare his message to most effectively complement Dr. Cerullo’s vision for the World Conference. I shared with him that the  conference theme was “Legacy”.  After all this is Morris’s 68th anniversary of ministry — and at age 83, Morris and Theresa are in their legacy years — and building an incredible  World Outreach Legacy Center on 18 prime acres in San Diego.

When I met Myles and Ruth in the green room before he ministered this message, that warm smile as big as the Bahamas welcomed me with the words, “How’s my world famous author?!”

Ruth glowed with regal beauty.  Myles so happy by her side.

Little did I or anyone know that the powerful and profound message Myles would subsequently deliver, “The Principle and Power of Legacy and Succession” would be the last message he spoke in a Morris Cerullo conference and ultimately become the compelling words that would frame his (and her) own legacy and succession…

“Make people greater than yourself and you will live forever”,  Myles said that day.  And that is what he did.

Following the passing of Dr Munroe on November 9th this prophetic message has been viewed nearly 100,000 times.

Now months later, I had forgotten how that at the close of his message, before turning the service back to me, Myles spontaneously held up a copy of my book and spoke very gracious words of endorsement and encouraged every leader to get a copy for their team, and every Christian to get a copy to learn the blessings of serving.

Then, following the shocking events of November 9th, one email, then another, and another – from pastors and leaders – and believers from around the world – who were now watching Myles’ message on legacy and succession to the gracious end – began to overflow my inbox asking how they could get copies of the book.  A little reminder that even from heaven Myles’ encouragement continued.

I can see Myles looking down from heaven with that smile as big as the Bahamas saying to me and every person that was touched by his life, “Now it’s your time, finish strong, and make people greater than yourself!”

My prayer is that I would make him proud.

About Greg Mauro

Great is thy faithfulness?

23 Apr

For 26 years Greg Mauro (r) has served as vice-president of ministries for Dr. Morris Cerullo.

For 26 years Greg Mauro (r) has served as vice-president of ministries for Dr. Morris Cerullo.

While we live in a world that celebrates jumping from one relationship to the next, faithfulness has taken a back seat to self interest. And sad to say the church world appears to be not far behind as Christians hop from one church,  from one ministry, and one message to the next.  All motivated by the bottom
line — what’s in it for me and what’s best for me.

Like honor, faithfulness is big in God’s eyes yet certainly not valued highly in the day and age we live in.

Faithfulness is defined as “adhering firmly and devotedly, as
to a person, cause or idea; steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant”.

Proverbs 20:6 asks it this way:

“Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?”

I Corinthians 4:2 says:

“Also it is required first in a minister that a man be found faithful”

Proverbs 28:20 promises…

“A faithful man shall abound with blessings…”

And Matthew 25:12 (NKJV)…

His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

By the grace of God, 2013 commemorates my 26h anniversary of answering the call to stand by the side of  Dr. Morris Cerullo.

Have there been times that my commitment to the relationship has been tested over a quarter of a century?  To say that there haven’t been would be unrealistic.

The key to faithfulness is knowing the will and the calling of God.

Someone once said, you are either called or you are crazy!

If God called you to serve another man’s ministry, if God called you to marry your spouse, you can always go back to that original calling as the bedrock of your commitment to faithfulness, especially during the trying times.  Above all your commitment to faithfulness is not only to another person but it is first and foremost to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus for your life.

One of the great statements Jesus ever made calls us to be faithful in serving another persons ministry:

“And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?”

Luke 16:21

While this verse clearly lays down the divine qualification for receiving that which is your own, I personally have never viewed this scripture as a license to see my service to Dr Cerullo as some kind of spring board to my own ministry.

Over the years I have turned down many opportunities that I felt could be seen as taking advantage of the platform that Dr Cerullo has entrusted to me.

I have simply preferred under God to endeavor to remain single minded and to stay faithful one day at a time to His call and to His servant, and have already received so much more in the process than I could ever have asked or hoped for.

I know, and you can too, that your future will take care of itself as you remain faithful to God, His kingdom and to your mentor.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”

Matt 6:33

God is looking for a few faithful men and women…and I believe you are one!  What a reward it will be when you hear these eternal words on that Great Day, “Well done good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of thy Lord” (Matt 25:21)

Yes, there is a four letter word that will sentence you to success as your serve another person’s ministry: O-B-E-Y!  Obedience is coming under the authority of your mentor.  In other words, submission.

Elisha came under the authority of Elijah and received the blessing of the double portion:

“And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you? Elisha said, Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.  So he said, you have asked a hard thing.  Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so”

2 Kings 2:9-10

Elijah’s charge to Elisha, “If you see me when I am taken from you…” speaks of Elisha staying connected  and paying close attention to his mentor.

Let me share a true story that illustrates the blessing of obedience to your mentor…For years God had been speaking to Dr. Cerullo’s heart that a time was coming that He was going to use our ministry to shake the nation of Spain.

Sure enough the time came and I received an invitation from a precious pastor in Madrid asking if Brother Cerullo would come to the Spanish capital.

I immediately got on a plane and met with this wonderful group of about 12 pastors from across Madrid.  One pastored a church of 20 people, another 35, the largest was less than 200…

All together these twelve pastors had a combined attendance of maybe 600 people.

They were inviting Brother Cerullo to come and conduct a crusade in a beautiful auditorium in the center of Madrid that seated 1,200.  Their faith was so high and they were so excited.  This would be the biggest charismatic meeting any of them had ever heard of in Spain up to that time.  The purity and sincerity of these men so touched my heart…

As per our policy, I always call Dr. Cerullo before leaving a city to give him a report.

As I shared the exciting report, Dr. Cerullo said “Greg, God showed me this crusade would be in a bull ring. Go back to the pastors and share with them what God is speaking to my heart.”

I went back to these men with these words and you could see their hearts and their heads sink in fear at the challenge of filling a bull ring.

They asked if Brother Cerullo would come and conduct the meeting in the auditorium first and then build toward a larger meeting in a bull ring the following year.

I knew what the prophet of God had communicated and with all the kindness and sensitivity I could muster I assured the pastors that as God had spoken to Dr. Cerullo, it would come to pass…

I had seen it too many times before…

I extended my stay in Madrid and reluctantly they took me to look at bull rings in Madrid.  We settled on a brand new bull ring with a retractable roof called “La Cubierta”, which translated means “the covering”. La Cubierta seated 12,000 people!

Well the day of the crusade came.

The pastors met me early for prayer and to help organize the set up.

Then we had our ushers and workers meeting at 4PM.

At 5PM we opened the doors as the pastors were now seated on the platform praying and hoping for the best!

To their shock and amazement the people began to stream in two hours before the meeting was scheduled to begin.

And the stream didn’t stop…

By 6PM there was not a vacant seat in the La Cubierta bull ring!

CNN was there…

These pastors’ eyes were as wide as saucers and their spirits were soaring as high as an eagle. Little did we all know we hadn’t seen anything yet…

As the powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit and the sound of Spanish praise and worship filled the covered bull ring, I introduced Brother Cerullo.

“I greet you tonight in the Name that is above every name, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God”, Brother Cerullo proclaimed as he held his Bible high for all to see.

A few moments later as he continued to preach under a mighty anointing he declared “Spain does not belong to the devil, but Spain belongs to Jesus!”

As those words left his lips a phenomenon I will never forget took place…

Golf ball sized hail began to pelt the platform and the entire audience that were assembled inside this covered bull ring!!

I looked up to the heavens and all I could see were sheets of white hail continuing to fall for several uninterrupted minutes. Yes, hail stones were falling inside a covered  bull ring!

Morris did not miss a beat.  He continued to minister as though the conditions were perfect.

I covered Mrs. Cerullo head with my jacket.  Soon plastic was over the sound equipment and keyboard.  Umbrellas popped up all over the bull ring.  The prophet of God continued to preach.

Finally the hail subsided.  I was now able to see that the roof was most certainly in place the whole time.  There was no other explanation: the hail was nothing less than a supernatural sign and manifestation from Jehovah!

Finally acknowledging this unusual occurrence, Morris prophesied, “The hail that fell in this arena is a sign of the blessing of God on the nation of Spain!”

The crowd erupted in spontaneous praise.  Over 10,000 souls came to Christ that night.  Hundreds of wonderful physical healings swept the audience. Those pastors, the church, and Spain would never be the same again…

And it all started with one of the most important secrets that will unlock the blessing of God over your life and ministry…obedience!
