Most believers focus on what Jesus did in the past—on the cross, in the tomb, and through His resurrection. Yet few stop to consider what Jesus is doing in heaven right now. His ministry did not end when He ascended into heaven; it entered a new dimension. The same Savior who walked on this earth two thousand years ago continues His work today—personally, powerfully, and prayerfully—carrying out an incredible ministry for you in heaven at this very moment.
“My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.”
— 1 John 2:1 (NLT)
There Are Two Voices Over Your Life
Scripture reveals that two voices continually contend to shape your life and destiny: the voice of the accuser and the voice of the Intercessor. Understanding what Jesus is doing in heaven right now helps you discern which voice you agree with.
- The voice of the accuser—Satan’s attempt to condemn and disqualify.
- The voice of the Intercessor—Jesus, who speaks mercy, grace, and truth over you.
- For every believer reading tbis right now I unequivocally declare: THE VOICE THAT PUSHES YOU AWAY FROM GOD IS NEVER THE VOICE OF GOD!
Isaiah 54:17 declares victory in this battle: “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.”
“These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken.”
Vindication means being cleared of blame and recognized as righteous. That is what God’s grace accomplishes for you through Jesus Christ.
The accuser’s voice seeks to separate you from God by stirring guilt, shame, and fear. Yet there is a stronger voice still speaking for you—the voice of Jesus, your Advocate. Even now He intercedes, presenting His righteousness as your defense before the Father.
Jesus is not your adversary; He is your greatest Advocate. He stands on your behalf to silence every accusation that would keep you from the confidence of God’s presence.
What Jesus Is Doing in Heaven Right Now as Your Advocate
The Greek word for advocate—paraklētos—means “one who comes alongside to help, defend, or intercede.” Jesus represents you before the Father, just as the Holy Spirit represents Him within you.
Picture Jesus as your defense attorney in heaven’s courtroom. He does not plead to soften the Father’s heart—the Father already loves you. Instead, Jesus presents His finished work as the unbreakable legal basis of your forgiveness and acceptance. This is a vital part of what Jesus is doing in heaven right now for you. Let’s read it again:
“But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.”
— 1 John 2:1 NLT
What Jesus Is Doing in Heaven Right Now—His Intercession Is Constant and Compassionate!
“He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.” — Hebrews 7:25 NLT
Jesus’ intercession never ceases. He doesn’t save you and step aside; He continually stands before the Father, applying His blood and righteousness to your life. Every accusation that rises against you meets the truth of His finished work.
“Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, interceding for us.” — Romans 8:34 NLT
When you fail, Jesus does not withdraw—He steps forward. He declares before the Father that your debt has been paid in full. This is not a distant theology; it is what Jesus is doing in heaven right now on your behalf.
What Jesus Is Doing in Heaven Right Now—The Power of His Blood and Righteousness
“For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands… He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf.” — Hebrews 9:24 NLT
Jesus intercedes not through emotion but through the satisfaction of divine justice. The Father’s justice has been fully met by His sacrifice. When the accuser points to your sin, Jesus points to His scars. When the enemy says, “They failed,” Jesus says, “I fulfilled.” When the law declares “Guilty,” Jesus responds, “Paid in full.”
Your strongest defense against accusation is the righteousness of Jesus Christ. His blood speaks a better word—a word of forgiveness, freedom, and favor.
Remember this truth: the voice that pushes you away from God is never the voice of God.
“There is therefore now no condemnation—not even a little—for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1
The Father and the Son Are United in Mercy
Some imagine Jesus persuading a reluctant Father to forgive. In truth, it was the Father’s love that sent the Son. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.” — John 3:16 NLT
Jesus’ advocacy does not change God’s heart—it reveals it. The Father delights in mercy (Micah 7:18) and rejoices over every sinner who comes home (Luke 15:7).

Heaven’s Courtroom Has Ruled in Your Favor
“Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — Romans 5:1 HCSB
Heaven’s courtroom has already delivered its verdict: righteous. Because of Jesus, your case is closed, your record is clean, and your standing is secure before God. This is the fruit of what Jesus is doing in heaven right now as your Advocate and High Priest.
Because of What Jesus Is Doing in Heaven Right Now, You Can Approach God Boldly
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us when we need it most.” — Hebrews 4:16 NIV
You can come confidently to the throne of grace because your Advocate is already there. Jesus does not remind the Father of your sin; He reminds heaven of His sacrifice. You stand not on your record but on His righteousness.
The Final Word
- The enemy accuses—Jesus intercedes.
- The accuser condemns—Jesus defends.
- The voice of the blood speaks louder than accusation.
- The Father delights in mercy and joyfully receives you.
When you begin to see what Jesus is doing in heaven right now, your confidence before God changes. Through His advocacy, your case is closed, your record is clean, and your relationship with the Father is secure.
A Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for speaking for me right now in heaven. Thank You that Your blood still declares mercy, forgiveness, and victory over my life. Quiet every accusing voice, and let me hear only Yours—the voice that says, “You are Mine, you are forgiven, you are righteous.” In Your name I pray, amen.
