A Celebration of the Miracle-Working God of Scripture
This morning during my devotional time, I was struck again by something simple but powerful: the book we hold in our hands is an amazing book where miracles are normal in the lives of God’s people on nearly every page.
After reading these stories for many years, it is easy to let them roll past us as familiar. We know the stories. Many have heard them since childhood.
But today I found myself with a fresh appreciation for the God of the Bible—the God whose power fills these pages and who is still the same yesterday, today, and forever.
As I read, I began to think how easy it is to move quickly through Scripture and forget just how many miracles fill the pages of this book.
And it led me to a simple idea.
What if we walked through the Bible and simply remembered the miracles?
What if we went book by book and paused to remember what might be considered the greatest miracle recorded in each one?
Not as a technical study. Not as a theological debate.
But as a celebration.
A celebration of the God who repeatedly steps into the circumstances of His people and does what only He can do.
Throughout Scripture God invites His people to remember what He has done.
Because remembering builds faith. Remembering brings encouragement. Remembering fills our hearts with praise.
When we remember the works of God, something begins to rise inside of us again.
Faith rises. Hope rises. Expectation rises.
We begin to remember that the God of the Bible is not distant or inactive.
He is the God of miracles.
And miracles were not rare events in the Bible. Every promise of God over your life requires a miracle and God wants you and I to expect them!
Miracles were normal in Scripture.
The same God who opened the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, healed the sick, and raised the dead is the God who still works in the lives of His people today.
So let’s take a journey through the Scriptures and remember the miracles.

The God of the Bible Is Still the God of Miracles
One of the great truths of Scripture is this:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8
The God who opened the Red Sea…
The God who shut the lions’ mouths…
The God who raised Jesus from the dead…
is still the same God today.
The Bible is a celebration of the God who does the impossible.
And that same God is still at work in the lives of His people today.
A Prayer for Your Miracle
As we remember the miracles throughout Scripture, it reminds us of something powerful: the God who worked in the lives of His people throughout the Bible is still working today.
If you are facing a situation that feels impossible, let me pray with you.
Father,
You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The God who created the heavens and the earth.
The God who opened the Red Sea.
The God who shut the mouths of lions.
The God who raised Jesus from the dead.
You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
I pray for every person reading this right now.
You see their life.
You know their situation.
You know the challenges they are facing.
Lord, I ask You to step into their circumstances with Your miracle-working power.
Bring healing where there is sickness.
Bring provision where there is lack.
Bring restoration where there is brokenness.
Bring peace where there is fear.
Bring hope where there is discouragement.
Let faith rise in their hearts as they remember the miracles You have already done.
Remind them that the God of the Bible is still the God of miracles today.
And may their lives become another testimony of Your goodness and Your power.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
