You are not reading this by accident.
From cover to cover the Bible reveals a God who specializes in finding His people in their hiding place – so He can remind them who He really is, remind you who you really are, take you by the hand, and bring you out into your new season of promotion.
Maybe today, this message is your burning bush, like the one where God met Moses and turned his fear into purpose.
Maybe it’s your cave, where He whispered to Elijah and turned exhaustion into encounter.
Maybe it’s your winepress, where He called Gideon a mighty man of valor while he was still trembling in fear.
Maybe it’s your belly of the fish, where Jonah discovered that running from God could never outrun His mercy.
Maybe it’s your pile of baggage, just like Saul was hiding behind when they came to choose him as king.
Or maybe it’s your upper room, where waiting turned into fresh fire and ordinary men became world changers.
However He chooses to meet you today, this is your moment.
So would you join me in taking the next five minutes to let God speak destiny and strength into your life and into your future, as I take you right now into a brief excerpt from my prophetic book, Your Promotion Is in Motion.
Almost everybody that is reading this is hiding from the greater thing that God sees in you and sees for you!
From the very beginning of time, nearly every great man or woman that God destined to use in a greater way had to be brought out of their hiding place.
- Adam hid among the trees when the Lord called, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9).
- Moses hid behind his insecurity.
- Gideon hid in fear, threshing wheat in secret.
- Saul hid among the baggage when it was his time to be anointed king of Israel.
- Jonah hid by running in the opposite direction of God’s call upon his life.
Yet in every case, God never gave up — He found them in their hiding place, reminded them who He really was and who they really were, took them by the hand, and brought them out into their destiny. I can relate… and maybe you can too.
Today you are not reading these words by accident. The same God who came looking for Adam, Moses, Gideon, Saul, Jonah — and me — is coming to find you, and I declare that He will find you right where you are and remind you that your promotion is still very much in motion…
But the first step is to step out of your comfort zone – or your fear zone – and make a move – because your promotion is in your motion…
Like the four lepers discovered, it is always better to do something with a little bit of fear and a little bit of lack than to do nothing at all.
Prophecy: God Sees Something Greater in You Than You See In Yourself!
Someone once said, “The enemy of great is good.” But God doesn’t want to simply take you from good to great — He wants to take you from the sidelines to success, and then from success to significance.
Destinies die in the comfort zone.
You can’t feed your fears and your future at the same time. And make no mistake — you and I are feeding one or the other…
The message of Your Promotion Is in Motion is this: God sees something greater in you — and God see something greater for you — than you see for yourself.
He sees something greater for your life, your family, your finances, your ministry, your future, and your influence than you could ever imagine.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)
We cannot rise higher than we see ourselves. Most times our view of our own worth and potential is far smaller than God’s view of us.
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8–9 NLT)
“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!” (Psalm 139:17–18 NLT)
Think about that — the Creator of the universe is thinking about you right now. His thoughts toward you are more than the sand on every seashore of the world, and every one of those thoughts is filled with purpose, promise, and love.
The greatest battle over your life is this: what you believe about God — and what you believe God believes about you. That’s why the greatest investment you can make in your life is what you’re doing today – spending more time in the word of God and establishing the voice of God is the greatest voice in your life!
Like Gideon God Will Always Meet You in Your Hiding Place
“Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree… while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, ‘The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!’” (Judges 6:11–12 NKJV)
God saw something in Gideon that Gideon did not see in himself. God saw something in Gideon that even his father did not see. Even at your lowest point, God sees something greater in you and for you than you — or anyone else — can see.
God doesn’t see what you are; He sees what you can be.
How This Truth Changed My Life
This truth began to change my life in 1987 during an Oral Roberts University chapel service. Dr. Morris Cerullo ministered his classic Proof Producers message.
He pointed out how, in Mark 16, Jesus rebuked the eleven disciples for their unbelief — yet, in the very next breath, He entrusted this unlikely bunch with the Great Commission!
“Afterward he appeared unto the eleven… and upbraided them with their unbelief… And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:14–15 KJV)
Wow! In their weakness, Jesus still empowered them.
Morris Cerullo famously summed it up this way:
“God is not depending on anything you possess; God is depending on what He can make of you!”
I learned that the greatest faith in all the world is not the faith that you have in God — but it’s the faith that God has in you.
Saul Was Hiding Among the Baggage
“So, Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel before the Lord… but when they looked for Saul, he had disappeared! So they asked the Lord, ‘Where is he?’ And the Lord replied, ‘He is hiding among the baggage.’ So they found him and brought him out… Then Samuel said to all the people, ‘This is the man the Lord has chosen as your king. No one in all Israel is like him!’ And all the people shouted, ‘Long live the king!’” (1 Samuel 10:20–24 NLT)
When it was time for Saul to be crowned king, he was hiding among the baggage. God didn’t shame Saul — He brought him out and promoted him. God will do the same for you.
Now is your time to come out from hiding behind the baggage of:
- Fear
- Weakness
- Failure
- Excuses
- Even your success
God met Gideon, Moses, Jonah, Adam, and Saul in their hiding places. He will meet you in yours. Are you hiding from God’s promotion, or are you ready to step into it?
The Greatest Voice Over Your Promotion
Jesus reassured Peter that when the enemy would try and accuse him and shake his faith that Jesus would be praying for him. Like Peter, there are two voices over your life: the voice of the Accuser and the much greater voice of your Intercessor: right now JESUS IS PRAYING FOR YOU!!
“Simon, Simon! Indeed Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail…” (Luke 22:31–32 NKJV)
Satan will try to sift you — but Jesus is praying for you. The voice of the Intercessor is louder than the voice of the accuser.
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night… Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (Joshua 1:8 NLT)
The greatest investment you can make is to fill your heart and mind with God’s Word so His voice is the loudest in your life. That is how you stop hiding from God’s promotion and start agreeing with it.
Prophetic Declaration: Step Out of Hiding
Declare this aloud:
I am not what the devil says I am.
I am what God says I am.
I am stepping out of hiding and stepping into my God-given destiny.
Even while you have been hiding, your promotion has already been in motion. God is bringing you out of your hiding place. Your promotion — and the people God has destined for you to impact — are waiting.
