The grace of God is not a license to sin—it is a license to win! Grace doesn’t lower the standard. Grace empowers you to live the life you could never live on your own.
Today I’m excited to share this encouragement with you from Pick Up the Bible and Let the Bible Pick You Up! Watch this short message, then ask yourself the question we explore below: What are your roots in?

Rooted in His love
Ephesians 3:17 says: “Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”
Your roots determine your stability. Your roots determine your nourishment. So what are you rooted in? Your performance… or God’s love?
“We love Him because he loved us first.” (1 John 4:19, NKJV)
That is the New Covenant. Not “perform so you’ll be accepted.” But “you are accepted—now live from that.”
Grace empowers you
The grace of God is not a license to sin—it is a license to win! Grace doesn’t lower the standard. Grace empowers you to live the life you could never live on your own. God is not your punisher—Jesus already bore your punishment. Hebrews 11:6 declares that God is your rewarder. Yes, He corrects—but even His correction is rooted in love.
And the greatest thing He wants to correct is this: What you believe about Him… and what you believe He believes about you. So when you read Scripture, don’t read it through a canceled covenant. Read it through the finished work of Jesus. Because the cross forever shifted the conversation—from condemnation to reconciliation, from wrath to relationship, from distance… to nearness.

He gives you the want to and the how to!
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” That’s Philippians 2:13 in the New Living Translation.
God is working in you! He gives you the want to, and He gives you the how to!
There has always been a temptation—even among spiritual leaders—to lead through rules instead of grace. Because rules can create a sense of control. They can make people dependent. They can even elevate the one delivering them, as if they are operating on a higher spiritual level.
But that is not the leadership of God. That was the spirit of the Pharisees—ruling with an iron fist instead of an open hand. Grace doesn’t produce dependence on a man. Grace produces dependence on God and celebrates the finished work of the cross of Jesus Christ.
Go back to these truths during the week. Let them take root in your heart. Establish the voice of God as the greatest voice in your life.
